oy Martinez has over 20 years of mergers and acquisitions experience as a private equity sponsor, seller, acquirer, attorney and investment banker in a variety of manufacturing, distribution, retail, and service industries. Mr. Martinez is a Managing Director of Cimarron Equity Partners LLC. Roy is responsible for business development and oversees the Company's day-to-day operations in Colorado and overall strategic direction. Roy is also involved in business valuations, client representation in acquisitions, debt and private equity placements.
Prior to founding KEI Capital and Cimarron, Mr. Martinez created and is a Managing Partner of a merchant bank, which forms investment syndicates to acquire, operate, grow and resell middle market businesses. Roy managed and was financially responsible for three offices of a regional mergers and acquisitions firm. Roy was a top producer during his tenure there and managed other intermediaries as part of his daily responsibilities. Roy began his career at a regional law firm in Washington D.C. where he represented clients in business transactions.
Mr. Martinez received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Regis College in Denver. In 1984, she was one of 300 franchisees selected to perform in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics.
Ever the entrepreneur, Colleen joined Varsity Spirit Corporation, a small start up manufacturing company. She was one of their top sales producers and an award winning Regional Sales Manager, with her region consistently ranked as number one or two in the company. Colleen became the first female vice president of sales for Varsity Spirit Corporation where she managed over 100 sales representatives. During Colleen's 10 years at Varsity, sales increased from 8M to 90M. Varsity was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 200 fastest growing companies in the United States in 1994 and 1995.
